Hollywood FAQs: American actress Zooey Deschanel and her husband Ben Gibbard have parted ways. The couple were married for two years and had announced their split on 2nd November 2011.
A representative of the stars had confirmed the news of the split of the couple. Some of the close friends of the two had said that the decision to separate was mutual. It was also reported that there wasn’t any involvement of a third person in the spit.
Zooey and Ben got married in the month of September 2009 near Seattle, Washington and since then there were no reports of disharmony in their marriage. However, Gibbard, who is also the front man of the indie rock band Death Cab for Cutie, had recently said in an interview that he was just awestruck when she was even talking to him.
The 35-year-old said that he had even seen her movies and obviously thought that she was beautiful. The couple was introduced by their mutual music manager three years back and Ben had termed it at love at first sight. On the other hand, Deschanel had stated that being away from her husband was definitely hard and added that one has to still continue to make efforts.
