Hollywood FAQs: Popular country and pop singer Glen Campbell said that he is suffering from Alzheimer’s disease in an interview today. The 75-year-old singer had in an interview with People magazine and said that he has been diagnosed with disease around 6 months ago.
Before the singer retires, he will release his final album in the month of August 2011. After the release of the album, Campbell will be performing on his last tour in the month of October.
In the interview, he said that he was diagnosed with the disease six months back. The country singer, who is still known for his hits, ‘Wichita Lineman’, ‘Galveston and ‘Rhinestone Cowboy’ expressed that he appreciates the support of his fans, who have been with him during testing times.
Campbell’s wife Kim Campbell, who was also present at the interview, had said that she does not want the people to mistake the singer in case he forgets the lyrics or appears strange. Kim added that she does not want the people to feel that he is intoxicated. After Glen had revealed about his disease at the interview, his comments had received several responses through online portals and twitter posts.
Glen has acted in movies True Grit (1969) and and Norwood (1970) among a few others.
