After having numerous rebellious hosts in the 20-year history of the MTV Movie Awards, including the unforgettable and rebellious bare bottom of Sasha Baron Cohen, this year MTV has bagged another rebel with a difference – Bachelorette star Rebel Wilson, for the award ceremony that will be hosted on April 14, 2013.
The Australian actress first caught the attention of the American audience in her bit role as Kristen Wiig’s room-mate in the 2011 chick-flick ‘Bridesmaid’ and ever since she had been seen in numerous movies such as ‘what to expect when you are expecting’, ‘Bachelorette’ and ‘Bridesmaid’ among others. In her latest movie ‘Pitch Perfect’, she plays a cute fat singer named Amy. Wilson also appeared in this year’s MTV Video Awards in a statement bikini t shirt and munching potato chips, with British band Wanted by her side, to present the awards for Best Female Video.
The MTV Movie Awards present a Golden Popcorn trophy to cinema’s most remarkable stars. The show’s first trailer was broadcast on December 20, 2012, during the series finale of ‘Jersey Shore’. The show will be aired live from the Sony Pictures Studio in Culver City, California. Wilson, along with her ‘Bridesmaid’ co-star Mat Lucas will take the centre stage, at an evening which definitely has the potential to entertain.
