Celebrities from the world of music such as Christina Aguilera, Bon Jovi, Billy Joel, as well as Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band will be appearing for ‘Hurricane Sandy: Coming Together’. The concert is being held as a benefit to provide aid to the victims of the storm which devastated US Northeast.
The special concert will air on November 2, 2012, at 8 PM ET on the networks of NBC Universal. The concert will be hosted by Today show’s Matt Lauer, while Brian Williams of NBC News and Late Night host Jimmy Fallon are also set to make appearances.
The money raised by the concert will be donated to the American Red Cross relief efforts, which provide food, shelter, emotional support and other assistance to those affected by the storm. People, who wish to donate can either visit RedCross.org, call at 1-800-RED-CROSS or can text the word REDCROSS to 90999 to contribute $10 for the cause.
The concert will be aired on Bravo, E!, Style Network, USA Network, SyFy, MSNBC, G4 and more. A spokesperson from NBC Universal said that channels which are not owned by the company will also be allowed to broadcast the concert. Even in the year 2005 after the hurricane Katrina, NBC organized a similar concert to benefit the Red Cross.
