American guitarist and singer, Doc Watson on May 24, was in a very critical condition at the North Carolina hospital. A representative from the medical facility said that the seven Grammy Award winner was critical after he fell down at his home in Deep Gap earlier this week.
The daughter of the singer revealed that he had not broken any bones but was suffering from an undisclosed illness at the Baptist Hospital in Winston Salem. She also said that he was ‘real sick’.
A newspaper from North Carolina reported that according to Watson’s friend Tommy Walsh , the singer was hospitalized on May 21 at the Watauga Medical Centre for an infection was then transferred on May 24 to Baptist Medical Centre,
Walsh also said that he did not know why Watson was transferred. Watson has also won seven Grammy Awards, Grammy for a lifetime achievement he received in the year 2004. In recent times he won in the category of best country instrumental performance for his playing on ‘Whiskey Before Breakfast’ in the year 2006. Watson along with his son Merle Watson toured a lot for most of his career. Some of the most popular songs of the singer includes ‘Shady Grove’, ‘Tom Dooley’ and ‘Rising Sun Blues’.
