After waiting with baited breathe, the two new additions to the Clooney home are finally here! Amal and George Clooney have welcomed their twins, a boy and a girl. And they’ve given them the most adorable names – Alexander and Ella. In a statement released by their rep, the joyous news was announced to the world. “This morning Amal and George welcomed Ella and Alexander Clooney into their lives. Ella, Alexander and Amal are all healthy, happy and doing fine. George is sedated and should recover in a few days.”
George Clooney will now join his friends in the joys of fatherhood. His close friend and Ocean’s Eleven co-star, Julia Roberts is already a mother to her own set of twins. She had famously spoken about advising the new father on what it’s like to bring up two infants. “You get through it and you figure it out. Everybody does, and it’s a trial and error and a whole lot of tears. And it’s amazing. I have three incredible kids, and to think about when they were teeny tiny. It goes so fast.” The dapper actor, meanwhile, joked about how he had to face his friends upon hearing he was a father of twins. “My favorite part is, you know, all my friends who are my age, and I have many of them, they’re already done. Their kids are all grown up and away to college and they’re laughing.”
He also spoke about how happy the Clooney clan is and how they were waiting for the double bundles of joy. “We are really happy and really excited. It’s going to be an adventure. We’ve sort of embraced it all with arms wide open.”
Amal was first photographed by paparazzi while hiding her growing baby bump on the red carpet late last year. She has continued to work as a human rights lawyer defending some of the most harshest international cases. Amal and George Clooney were married back in 2014 at a private ceremony in Italy that involved a few close high profile friends.
