Freida Pinto, of Oscar winning Hollywood movie “Slumdog Millionaire” fame, says that she is not interested in doing Bollywood flicks and is rather interested in doing more realistic films. The Indian actress said in an interview that she is not interested in dancing around the trees in a conventional Bollywood movie.
“I wouldn’t want to do a Bollywood film per se, but I would like to do an Indian language film. For some reason I think Bollywood has become synonymous with commercial cinema, which is song and dance and everything that is larger than life. I am interested in the reality,” she said in an interview with an Indian news agency.
Freida also said that most of the Bollywood films are “mindless cinema”, and that she would not like to be a part of it. She would rather like to be part of films that she would later like to think about what she has seen.
However, Freida appreciates what people do in Bollywood, and the way they shed their inhibitions and work hard to entertain the audience.
