Oh, the joys of the 90s! Can you believe that it’s been over 20 years since the release of the first Toy Story movie? It was in 1995 that we were first introduced to Andy’s toys – Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Mr. Potato Head and the rest of the Pixar Animation Studios gang. What a wonderful time to be a kid!

The last time we met the toys was in 2010 for a very depressing story of Toy Story 3. We didn’t hope to see a follow-up, now that Andy is all grown up and gone away. But the toys live on, don’t they? Officially, Pixar has made the announcement for Toy Story 4 – it’s, wait for it, June 21, 2019!

Well, that seems light years away, to infinity and beyond! A lot can happen between now and then, but considering the past successes of the films, we are definitely looking forward to catching this one in theatres. Or God knows by 2019 what new invention will have us experience the toys like never before!

The storyline for the movie is about Woody and Buzz Lightyear trying to find Bo Beep, Woody’s love interest. In case you didn’t notice, she wasn’t there in the last movie and rumor has it that she was given away or sold during on of Andy’s garage sales!

Director of Toy Story 3, Lee Unkrich had said in 2010 that there probably wouldn’t be another installment to the hit franchise. “I’m flattered that people ask about it – it reminds me how much people love the characters, but it was really important to me with this film that we do not just create another sequel, that it not just be another appendage coming off the other two.”

But now it seems they have got their new story and we can’t wait to witness the fun and adventure Woody and his friends take us on!
