Love. Is. Dead. One of Hollywood’s most stable and in love couple, Lady Gaga and her partner of 5 years, Taylor Kinney have officially ended their engagement. The superstar Love Game singer and the Chicago Fire actor were spotted out and about without their rings and sources close to the couple said that they had in fact called it quits at the beginning of the month. Soon after the announcement, Lady Gaga updated her Facebook page with a loving tribute to their relationship
From what we can tell, it seems that they are still on good terms and are open to working it out. Gaga has been facing an extremely busy and rewarding year. Her stint on American Horror Story: Hotel for which she won a Golden Globe Award. She will reprise her role as The Countess in the second instalment of the hit series. Taylor, on the other hand, is busy shooting Chicago Fire where he is a regular cast member.
The twosome had met way back in 2011 while shooting Gaga’s video for You & I. He had told an odd story of how they first got together: “I remember I went up, and we’re rolling, and I kissed her and she didn’t expect it. They cut, and she slapped me. And then it was just awkward. And then the next take, I just did it again and then she didn’t slap me. She didn’t slap me then”. They went strong and got engaged on Valentine’s Day 2015.
Working in Hollywood, being in the spotlight and living on a hectic schedule, with weird timings, touring, shooting and press, it would be difficult for any couple to make it through a strong relationship. As we’ve seen on the red carpet so many times, Kinney kept himself out of the spotlight to give his ladylove a chance to shine as she usually does. We hope they work it out and get back together soon enough. We want to hear wedding bells, Gaga!
