American actress and singer Anne Hathaway will soon be seen on TV in a mini series about kidnapping of an American woman in the Middle East. Hathaway has become the latest Hollywood celebrity to try her hand in TV with the series ‘The Ambassador’s Wife’.
The series is produced by Mark Gordon Company that will be working on an adaptation of Jennifer Steil’s novel with the same name. The story is based on Steil’s experience as the wife of the British Ambassador to Yemen. ‘The Ambassador’s Wife’ has a story of kidnapping of an American woman in a fictional Middle Eastern country and her struggle to get back to her husband.
The TV series is expected to be sold to TV and digital outlets in future. Mark Gordon in a statement said, “The Ambassador’s Wife is an incredible story that pulls you in immediately and resonates with all of us based on the images and news headlines that are pervasive in our lives today”.
Gordon added that they are fortunate to have Anne on board for such a timely, compassionate and gripping drama. Hathaway had started her career in TV with the series Get Real and sicne then she has hardly appeared on small screens.
