American actress and TV director Melissa Gilbert got hitched to her fiancé Timothy Busfield at an intimate private ceremony. The private ceremony was held at San Ysidro Ranch in Santa Barbara on April 24, 2013 and was reportedly a closely guarded affair, as a result not many details have been revealed. A representative of Gilbert confirmed that the actress wore red for the wedding.
The couple do have some good past experience in marriage, love and even parenthood. Both of them have been married twice before. While Gilbert is a mother of two children, Busfield has three children. The pair got engaged during the Christmas holidays.
Gilbert’s relationships started at the age of 17, when she reconnected with the little-known actor Rob Lowe, who was also 17 at the time. In the year 1981, Gilbert had seen Lowe stop by next to her at a red light and since then they dated on and off for six years.
During this time both had affairs with many famous people. Gilbert had also dated John Cusack, Tom Cruise, Billy Idol and Scott Baio. Earlier, the actress also had a long battle with alcohol and drug abuse and wrote about her life in her biography in the year 2009.
