After a long struggle, the estranged reality-show couple Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries are officially divorced. A judge from Los Angeles confirmed that the former couple have reached an out-of-court settlement.
Kim and Kris have been fighting over the terms of their divorce for around 536 days, which is five times longer than the term of their marriage. Humphries allegedly harboured hopes of an annulment based on fraud.
Reports say that the NBA star reportedly backed down, before the case was to go on trial from May 6, 2013. According to the agreed terms, Kris will receive no payout from the reality star, while they will be paying their own legal fees.
A US-based gossip website said that the Kim was in court when the judge announced, “Congratulations on your dissolution.” As the divorce has now been settled, Kim is reportedly relieved that she can now enjoy her pregnancy. Currently, the reality star is pregnant with her partner Kanye West’s child.
Kris and Kim had tied the knot in a ceremony which was widely publicised in August 2011, but the marriage lasted for just 72 days, after which they were separated. Many had alleged the actress’ marriage to Kris to be a publicity stunt.
