American actress and TV host Padma Lakshmi is known to have a few bad days every month in terms of her health. The actress would suffer from cramps, nausea, bloating, and shock-like sensations in her legs.
Once the actress had even suffered from severe mood swings and agony, which had affected almost every area of her life. Despite such heavy symptoms, the ‘Boom’ actress initially thought that it was just a part of her life and even doctors had termed her symptoms to be ‘women’s problems’. At one point, the cook book author also thought that she was exaggerating her condition and admitted , ‘I thought I was just being a wimp.’
The model, who was once married to author Salman Rushdie, said that she was told that some women get severe menstrual cramps, while others do not. She even thought that it was normal for her, as her mother too had suffered from the same problem. The ‘Glitter’ stars problem began when she reached adolescence and she needed medical treatment one more than one occasion.
However, until the age of 36 her condition worsened and her case became quite advanced. She was then diagnosed with endometriosis. Some specialists also said that she will not be able to have children. So it came as a shock when she discovered she was pregnant when in relationship with Adam Dell.
