Hollywood power couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie (also called ‘Brangelina’ by some sections of the media) have added another notch to their business belt – vintners. They have partnered with Marc Perrin and his family, who are well-known in the wine-making industry and are set to debut their first wine, a rose called Miraval, next month in the US.
The announcement did not come as a surprise to anyone close to Brangelina. The reason being that the ‘Mr. and Mrs. Smith’ actors have leased for a few years and finally bought in 2011, a 1000-acre estate in France called Chateau Miraval. The estate has had famous residents in the past as well. Pink Floyd recorded their popular album ‘The Wall’ at a studio there.
According to reports, the wine will have a strong floral flavor, with white lily aroma and notes of strawberry and raspberry. The couple has been involved in every step of the project, including the design of the bottle, which will have both parties’ names on it: Jolie-Pitt and Perrin, and profits will be shared equally. After the rose, there are plans to release white wines in the summer and red wines later in 2013.
This venture adds the name ‘Jolie-Pitt’ to a list of Hollywood winemakers including Francis Ford Coppola, Drew Barrymore and Fergie, among others.
