Helena Bonham-Carter is a very talented actress who effortlessly fits into a variety of roles. The 46-year-old has now been cast to play the role of Elizabeth Taylor for a television drama. Lindsay Lohan was the latest actress to take on the legendary Taylor’s real-life role, but received negative reviews from fans and critics alike for her insipid acting.
Helena is no newcomer to the industry, she is a star in her own right, playing the role of Bellatrix Lestrange in the famous Harry Potter series, as well as the role of Miss Havisham in Great Expectations. She debuted in A Pattern of Roses, which was a television adaptation of K. M. Peyton’s book. In Hollywood, Bonham-Carter was appreciated in movies such as Fight Club and A Room with a View. The ‘Corpse Bride’ star has also won two Academy Awards.
In the BBC drama Burton and Taylor, Helena will be joined by Dominic West, who will be playing the role of Tim Burton. The drama will be based around the relationship shared by Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor. Taylor and Burton shared a tempestuous time together during the 1960’s and 1970’s and the TV-drama would be telling the story of how the actors got together on the sets of Private Lives in 1983.
