American professional basketball player Kobe Bryant and wife Vanessa said on January 11, 2013 that they were calling off their divorce. The announcement was made by the couple on social media.
Vanessa Bryant’s Instagram page broke the news, as the star had posted a message which read, “We are pleased to announce that we have reconciled. Our divorce action will be dismissed. We are looking forward to our future together.” Even Kobe posted a message on his Facebook page the same day. Kobe also posted posted on his Facebook page, “I am happy to say that Vanessa and I are moving on with our lives together as a family”.
The basketball player also added, “When the show ends and the music stops, the journey is made beautiful by having that someone to share it with. Thank you all for your support and prayers.” The divorce was filed by Vanessa in the month of December 2011, citing irreconcilable differences. The divorce was filed nearly ten years after Kobe admitted that he had sex with a woman at a Colorado hotel, after which Vanessa stayed by his side.
The marriage issue then came into the spotlight when a clerk at a Vail-area resort told the police that Kobe had sexually assaulted her in 2003. Charges were filed against Bryant by the Eagle County District Attorney shortly after the accusations.
