American country music artist Jake Owen has become a proud father. The singer, along with his wife Lacey Buchanan welcomed their first baby girl on November 22, 2012 in Nashville Tennessee.
The couple has named the newborn Olive Pearl Owen in memory of the singer’s late godmother who died last July. The baby weighed 6 lbs and 3 oz and is 19.5 inches tall. The singer broke the good news to his fans on the social networking site Twitter.
Owen Tweeted, “Today is the greatest day of my life. Welcome Olive Pearl Owen. 6 lbs 3 oz Turkey Baby!!! Happy Thanksgiving”. The tweet contains a picture of the singer with the newborn in his arms. The ‘Tell Me’ singer went on to express on twitter that he was thankful for many things in life, which include his family, his dog, his career and all his fans.
Owen added, “I hope you all are having an amazing day.” The ‘Alone With You’ singer also said that he and his wife are excited to begin their family and that they would like to teach Pearl everything they learned from their parents and are looking forward to learning from her too. Owen and Lacey tied the knot on May 7, 2012 in Vero Beach, Florida.
