American actress and singer Jessica Simpson’s mother Tina recently filed for a divorce from Joe Simpson. The divorce papers were filed in Texas last month while claiming, “The marriage has become insupportable because of discord or conflict of personalities.”
Jessica’s parents got married in the year 1978 and do not have any minor children. While filing for divorce, Tina said that she has separate property from Joe and wants to keep it, however no details of the property has been mentioned.
On an interesting side note, Tina has filed for the divorce in a county where divorcing couples are supposed to behave in a particular way during the court proceedings. For instance the couple cannot curse each other, should not physically hurt each other or harass each other over the phone, among other things.
According to reports, even if one of the spouse violates the rules then that would result in contempt of court. Days after filing the divorce petition, Joe filed a response as well. Joe stated in his response that Tina should not get anything from the split. Joe and Tina are known to have played vital roles to turn their daughters – Jessica and Ashlee into pop stars. The divorcing couple also have two grand children.
