Veteran Hollywood actor Leslie Nielsen died on Sunday, November 28, 2010 at Fort Lauderdale, Florida, U.S, after suffering from pneumonia. He was 84 years old.
Nielsen initially portrayed dramatic roles, but later on tried his hand at comedy and was pretty successful in that genre too. The veteran Canadian- American actor debuted in Hollywood in 1950’s and was successful in getting roles that showcased his ultimate good looks and persona.
Nielsen’s ‘Airplane’ released in 1980 and showed that the actor was not meant for only serious kind of roles, but was good at comedy also.
The “Naked Gun” trilogy brought the actor more critical and commercial appreciation. To follow the trilogy, were shows like Dracula: Dead and Loving It, Spy Hard, and Mr Magoo.
Nielsen has done more than 100 films and about 1,500 television programs. And has portrayed as many as 200 characters.
