Video on demand platform HBO Max by WarnerMedia is all set to be launched on Amazon’s Fire TV as well as Fire Tablets. The platform was launched about six months back and is now all set to make its presence felt on the popular Amazon Fire TV. It was in the month of May, 2020 when HBO Max was launched for smartphones and other smart TV platforms. But it remained strangely missing from two of the popular platforms like Amazon Fire TV and Roku. But it continues to be unavailable on Roku.
From November 17, 2020 the HBO Max application will be automatically updated on the Fire devices and the users who already have subscriptions to the platform can use their login credentials to have access to it. In case of new customers, they can subscribe to the streaming service directly on the ap and will be available at $14.99 per month. Another thing to notice is that it will also be available for those who already access HBO Max through the Prime Video Channels of Amazon.
Terms between WarnerMedia and HBO have not yet been disclosed and they have been in talks for many months now. OTT platforms gained more popularity and became more relevant during the complete lockdown that was implemented in a number of countries across the globe due to the coronavirus pandemic. The number of subscribers increased as more number of people stayed at home and had to find a way to pass time and remain safe.
Now that a number of nations have reopened, the demand for OTT subscriptions continues to remain high. There is still a crowd that even now prefers to remain at home and remain safe. While a number of sectors have received an economic setback during the pandemic, OTT platforms have managed to flourish. Popular OTT platform Netflix has also increased its subscription prices in recent times, but its demand continues to remain stable.
