Hollywood FAQs: On January 18, 2012 it was announced that American rapper LL Cool J will be hosting the 2012 Grammy Awards which will be broadcasted on February 12, 2012. The legendary rapper has already experienced the annual Grammy Nominations concert and now he has to gear up for the mega event.
The ‘In Too Deep’ actor released a statement and expressed he is thrilled to be a part of ‘Music’s Biggest Night’. Since the year 2008, the rapper has been hosting the nominations concert every year. The statement added that he has fond memories of his first Grammy Awards and now hosting the show in the presence of so many other incredible artists is like a dream come true for the rapper. This is the first time someone has hosted the ceremony since 2005.
The announcement of the host of the ceremony comes a week after the line-up for eclectic performances of the show were announced. Some of the lucky nominees like Nicki Minaj, Bruno Mars, Foo Fighters, Taylor Swift and Kelly Clarkson are expected to take the stage on the night of the event. It was also reported earlier this month that the British songstress Adele will also be taking the stage at the show. If it materializes, then this will be the first public appearance for the singer post her throat surgery that she went through last year.
More details of the big musical event regarding the performances, presenters and special segments will be announced in the upcoming weeks. The show will be aired live from Los Angeles on CBS. Some of the earlier hosts of the major event include Jon Stewart and Queen Latifah. Over the years, some of the other hosts of the Grammys include Ellen DeGeneres, Billy Crystal, Rosie O’Donnell and others. The show will be aired from the Staples Centre in Los Angeles.
