American actress and fashion designer Amanda Bynes has been caught up in a new controversy. The star was arrested on May 23, 2013 in New York City, after she threw a bong out of her apartment window.
The police arrived in response to the call that the actress had reportedly been smoking marijuana in the lobby of her building. A few pictures were taken at the scene and the 26-year-old star could be seen lowering her head as her blonde hair covered her entire face. She stepped out in a long-sleeved black Versace shirt with gray sweat pants and high tops, her hands being handcuffed.
Sources say that the star’s legs were also shackled, as she was taken to Manhattan Central Booking. On Thursday, May 23, 2013, the police responded to a call made by a doorman, saying the actress was smoking pot in the lobby, but when the police arrived, Bynes had already returned to her apartment.
The police then reached the apartment of the actress and saw a bong when Bynes opened the door, but she deliberately went to the window to throw it out. Police officers then took her into custody and brought her to the Roosevelt Hospital to undergo a psychiatric evaluation, but she was later transported to Manhattan Central Booking, where she spent the night.
