The publication will talk about the origin of the band, right up to their their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Band Member Adam Yauch, who was also known as MCA, died of cancer at the age of 47 in the month of May 2012. The book will be published by Faber and Faber, who said that it was a landmark acquisition.

Faber’s Lee Brackstone said, “Beastie Boys have entertained us for years with classic albums like Paul’s Boutique and Hello Nasty”. The members of the band Adam Horovitz, Mike Diamond and Yauch had met in high school in Brooklyn. The band started playing hip-hop after starting out as the Young Aboriginals and later renamed themselves as Beasty Boys in the year 1986.

The boys then went on to launch their debut album ‘Licensed to III’. The baNd was known for its music but was more known for its share of negative headlines, due to the bratty personas of the members.
