American country music singer Mindy McCready’s funeral has been planned for 2 pm on February 26, 2013 in her home town of Fort Myers. The funeral of the country star is expected to be held at the Crossroad Baptist Church. The last rights will be arranged by Hodges Farley Funeral Home in Lehigh Acres.
According to reports, there will be no visitations and only a service will be held. The singer had committed suicide at her residence on February 17, 2013, in Heber Springs, Ark. McCready killed herself just days after the court ordered a substance abuse treatment program for her.
The ‘You’ll never know’ singer died of a single gun shot to the head a month after boyfriend David Wilson was believed to have killed himself at the same location. All the mourners who wish to offer flowers for the late singer are asked to send them to the church between 10 am to 11 am on Tuesday. A funeral home representative said that anyone who wishes to make a donation can do so in McCready’s name to the Children’s Trust c/o John Ammons, Edison National Bank, 13,000 Cleveand Avenue, Fort Myers. A memorial has also been organised by friends and relatives which is tentatively scheduled for March 6, 2013.
