If you were enthralled by DC Universe’s Wonder Woman, then this is not the last you’ve seen of Gal Gadot play the superhero on the big screen. If insider reports are to be believed, then DC is already working on an upcoming sequel to Wonder Woman. Great news is that Gal Gadot will continue playing the lasso of truth holder, as well as Chris Pine playing her love interest. Patty Jenkins, who directed the biggest movie of the summer, will probably reprise her role and direct the upcoming film as well.

Here’s what more we know about the upcoming Wonder Woman film –

Like the first film, this one will also be set during a significant time in history. It is reported that the film will take place during the Cold War, and will see Gal Gadot in more of an ’80s getup, giving us a throwback of what Wonder Woman was like before our own memory.

Chris Pine, who played the role of pilot Steve Trevor will also have a role in the film. We don’t know yet how he’s going to rise from the dead, but he’s still considered significant in the story.

Patty Jenkins said during an interview about her return for Wonder Woman 2, “I was like, you don’t have to do this. It doesn’t have to be a foregone conclusion that you do Wonder Woman 2. But then, as I was falling asleep, I had an epiphany. I was like, wait a minute. You have the greatest character of all time that you love dearly, with a cast that you love, sitting at the palm of your hand at this day and age – you can do whatever you want with them – are you crazy?”

And yes, Gal Gadot will be paid much more than her initial $300,000 that she was paid for this one. Now that the film has already garnered over $700 in worldwide collections, she can negotiate for a fatter pay check.
