It’s final! Robyn Rihanna Fenty and Adam Driver are going to be co-stars for an upcoming film called Annette. The rights for the movie have been acquired by Amazon Studios. Annette will be a “music-filled drama” and is set to be directed by French filmmaker Leos Carax, who will be making his debut in the English movie business, according to Variety.

Initially, Girl With The Dragon Tattoo star Rooney Mara was approached to do the film, but she exited the project due to other work commitments. It can now be confirmed, that Love On The Brain singer, Rihanna is taking over for this ambitious project. This isn’t the first time that Rihanna has played a role on the big screen. Her first movie was Battleship, that didn’t go down well with the critics, but earned her accolades for her acting prowess in her debut role. She will later be seen in the reboot version of the original heist movie, Ocean’s Eleven – an all-female ensemble cast in Ocean’s Eight – that will also star Sandra Bullock and Cate Blanchett, among others.

Adam Driver has just completed his stint on Girls and successfully played the role of Kylo Ren, the son of Han Solo and Princess Leia in Star Wars: The Force Awakens and will once again be on the Dark Side to resume his role as the Sith Lord in Star Wars: The Last Jedi. He was last seen in Martin Scorsese’s meditative film, Silence.

Leos Carax is a well-known face in the French film industry, and has worked on a number of successful projects like Boy Meets GirlMauvais Sang and Holy Motors, among others.

Filming for Annette will begin in Spring this year, and is being filmed in a number of international locations, including locally in Los Angeles. The movie is looking for a release in 2018.
