The one that got away!

After less than year of being together, pop singer Katy Perry and her handsome actor beau Orlando Bloom have called it quits. 2017 has claimed its first heartbreak. Reps for the former couple issued an official statement, so this isn’t just another tabloid rumor. The statement read –

Before rumors or falsifications get out of hand, we can confirm that Orlando and Katy are taking respectful, loving space at this time.

What that even means, no one knows. Are they taking break? Are they done for good? Have they split on good terms? We, the people, have invested much time in their relationship and we want answers! Their last appearance together was this past weekend at the Oscars after-party hosted by Vanity Fair, though they appeared separately on the red carpet earlier that evening. In fact, Perry even threw a surprise birthday bash for her man, and his mother attended the ‘do! And Orlando has met with Katy’s family, having spent Thanksgiving with them late last year.

It was in March last year when reports began emerging of the two becoming a surprise couple, by the tabloids. What followed was a flurry of images of them spending the holidays together, including an embarrassing pic of Orlando minus any clothing, paddle-boarding with Perry. During the heated Presidential election campaign, they hit the trail together and even dressed up as Hillary and Bill Clinton for Halloween. Sources close to the couple had thrown major hints to the media, saying that Bloom was ready to propose, and that the couple had even discussed marriage and kids before.

This split, then, comes as a shock. Maybe Katy Perry is busy promoting her new hit, Chained To The Rhythm and Orlando Bloom is out and about with his charity work for UNICEF and will soon begin the promotion of the latest instalment to the hit franchise, Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.
