Hollywood FAQs: Hollywood actress Linda Christian, known for being the first Bond girl, died of cancer in Palm Desert in California. The Mexican actress breathed her last on 22nd July 2011, after she gave up her battle with colon cancer at the age of 87.

Apart from becoming popular as the first Bond girl, the actress was also known for her marriage with Tyrone Power of 20th Century Fox.

Christian was born in Mexico and was first noticed by Warner Bros and had shot to fame in her later ventures. The actress was a beauty that had set the silver screens on fire with her oomph and acting skills. Linda in the year 1949 had tied the knot with Tyrone Power and had two daughters, Romina and Taryn. Romina Power is a singer, while Taryn Power is an actress.

Linda was best known for her role of Vesper Lynd, who was James Bond’s love interest in the TV adaptation of Casino Royale. In the year 1963 she had also starred in the movie The V.I.P.s along with Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton. Apart from her daughters, the actress has also left behind eight grand children.
