One of the reasons that viewers can’t stop watching “Dancing With The Stars” is that there’s never a shortage of behind the scenes drama. Prior to being eliminated this Monday in the 3rd episode of the 22nd season of the popular reality/competition show, the undisputed drama queen has been actress Mischa Barton, who was eliminated from the show on Monday.
According to one DWTS insider, Barton’s bratty behavior behind the scenes was earning her a reputation as the rudest and most self-entitled celebrity performer that had ever been on the show in the more than ten years it has been on the air. This is certainly a bold claim, because whether it’s Kim Zolciak, Kate Gosselin, or Mel B, it seems that there’s always one “diva” who gives gossip writers plenty of grist for the mill with their outrageous demands.
Barton was criticized for being the only cast member that didn’t give a hug to Geraldo Rivera after the legendary reporter was the first to be the first to go in the show’s first elimination ceremony. She also caused a few eyes to roll when she seemed to blame her lackluster performance of a Tango during “Latin Night” on the DWTS house band.
Perhaps it didn’t help that Barton and her professional dance partner Armet Chigvintsev got slammed by judge Lenn Goodman for their terrible tango and received a score of 15 out of 30. Whatever the reason for Barton’s attitude, there was noticeable onscreen tension between the 30 year old actress (best known for her role on the coming of age drama “The O.C”) and Chigvintsev during the show’s rehearsal segments. Barton blamed Chigvintsev for being “too hard on her” although it should be noted that Barton seemed unreceptive to her pro partner’s pointers, and definitely seemed to respond with an apathetic “whatever” a few times too many.
