Randy Jackson confirms conclusion of his Idol journey

After several days of speculation, it has been finally confirmed that Randy Jackson will make an exit from the Fox talent show American Idol. Apparently though, he is not the only one to have called it quits. Sources familiar with the development say that the network is planning to begin the show from scratch next time around.

However, this does not mean that other judges Nicky Minaj, Keith Urban and Mariah Carey would also be scrapped. Reports reveal that executive producer Nigel Lythgoe could also leave. Jackson released a statement saying he has decided that he will leave after this season. The statement said, “Yo! Yo! Yo! To put all of the speculation to the rest, after 12 years of judging on ‘American Idol’ I have decided it is time to leave after this season”.

Jackson has been on the show since its inception in 2002. The musician said that he is proud of the way they changed the TV and music industry. Nicky Minaj was also asked if she would return for the next season and she said that she loves people on Idol and she would love to be a part of it again as it is fun.

The singer went on to say that she feels happy at Idol and has thanked the makers for giving her a chance. Minaj added that the makers of the show could have chosen anyone in the world but they picked her.
