Lindsay Lohan sentenced to locked rehab

American actress Lindsay Lohan is once again in trouble. The ‘Liz & Dick’ actress once again avoided jail term by agreeing to spend around 90 days locked in a drug rehab centre. The agreement was part of a plea deal to settle criminal charges against her on March 18, 2013.

Lohan had entered into pleas of no contest on two of the misdemeanor charges levied against her, which were related to a traffic accident last summer. The ‘Mean Girls’ star had driven her car into a truck in Los Angeles. The actress did not challenge the finding that she had violated her probation on a 2011 shoplifting conviction.

Judge James Dabney sentenced her to 180 days in jail and then stayed that sentence. Lohan said that she would not spend time behind bars if she met the terms of his deal. ‘The Canyons’ actress has been involved in legal trouble for the last six years, as she faced arrests in 2007 for drunk driving. As the judge was handing down the sentence on March 19, 2013 he had a suggestion saying ‘Don’t Drive’.

Lindsay has also been sentenced to 30 days of community service along with 18 months of psychotherapy and an extended probation period.
