Trailer for Star Trek: Into Darkness releases to world-wide appreciation

J.J. Abrams has taken over the Star Trek Enterprise and has released the first trailer of ‘Star Trek: Into Darkness’, which includes snippets of action scenes. It looks like Abrams has really packed in as much action as possible, even more so than the previous 10 Star Trek installments.

Benedict Cumberbatch, who played Sherlock Holmes in the TV series, could be featured as the mighty Khan. The trailer shows the villain to be an unstoppable force of terror from the inside, that has detonated the fleet and has left the world in a state of crisis.

In the trailer, Cumberbatch’s character says that safety is an illusion. He tells everyone to enjoy their final moments of peace, for he has returned and will have his vengeance. Cumberbatch has a spine-tingling voice and seems to do a great job as the villain.

Paramount Pictures will be releasing ‘Star Trek: Into Darkness’ with Chris Pine playing Captain Kirk, Zachary Quinto playing Spock, Zoe Saldana playing Uhura and Simon Pegg playing Scotty.

The new movie is set to hit theaters on May 17, 2013. The Japanese international trailer of the film features an additional 12 seconds of footage which shows 2 hands on opposite sides of a glass divide, which could be a reference to the scene in ‘Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan’. Many people wonder if history will repeat itself, as Spock dies in the previous installment while trying to save the crew.
