Kathie Lee Gifford apologizes on air and through tweets to Martin short

American TV host Kathie Lee Gifford on May 30, 2012 made a gross mistake on Today show when she asked Martin Short about his wife Nancy Dolman. The mistake was that the host did not know that Dolman died of ovarian cancer in the year 2010.

But still the ‘Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted’ star is known for his calm demeanor and smooth response. However, Lee was took her Twitter account and apologized for her mistake.

Gifford wrote, “I send my sincerest apologies to @MartinShort and his family. He handled situation w/enormous grace and kindness and I’m so grateful”. To which one of the tweeter noted, “Dude … that’s not martin short’s twitter. LOL”

The TV host on Wednesday was talking about short’s love for his wife, with whom he as married for 36 years. Dolman died in the year 2010 after fighting a long battle with ovarian cancer. Gifford asked if he was still in love to which he said, ‘madly in love’. After a commercial break, Gifford apologized on air and later sent a tweet. Lee apart from being the host has also made several guests appearances in films as well as TV series and has also released albums as she is also a singer.
